A Review of West Side Story (Broadway)
By Cassie W., August 12, 2010
I saw West Side Story (Broadway) on 08/07/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 4-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “I was underwhelmed by the singing, but the dancing was incredible! ”
I had a fabulous time and left the show feeling happy and excited. I'd describe the show as beautiful, captivating, and moving. The choreography was a highlight of the show because Jerome Robbins is always amazing. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to anyone who appreciates classic choreography or anyone who just loves a traditional musical but not to anyone who is looking for beautiful singing.
I saw this show because I love West Side Story, and I wanted to see a professional production. I would see it again. I sat in the center balcony area of the theater. The view was excellent, except there was a bar in front of me and the seats were fine.
