I saw Rock of Ages (Broadway) on 07/03/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 5-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “"Rock Of Ages" RULES!”

Finally, the perfect musical! From the first powerful chords setting you headbanging in your seat, to the rousing on-your feet finale, “Rock of Ages” is nothing but a nonstop musical delight that reaches right on in and grabs that rad rocker deep inside you. This awesome production just pops right off the stage, coming to life with absolutely perfect casting, right on down to the kick-ass band. Each and every member of this hilarious top-notch ensemble truly shines. Those 80’s song lyrics you forgot you still remember are employed in clever and unexpected ways, keeping the plot motoring right along at turns both playful and poignant, and always filled with fun. Every single cast member has a wonderful voice, and terrific comic timing. For example, the first time Stacee Jaxx strutted onstage to give his gloriously gonzo rendition of “Wanted Dead or Alive,” tears ran down my cheeks from laughing so hard. He chews up the scenery and spits it out like a wad of Day-Glo Bubble Yum; just one of the many hilarious moments and awesome musical numbers that make this play such a joy to experience. But it is Constantine Maroulis, as Drew, who is truly the heart and soul of the play. From the first moment a dazzled Drew shyly peeks around the corner at the chaos of the Sunset Strip, guitar clutched hopefully in hand, that human pulse is there and beating strongly, pounding steadily through ‘til the end. He will capture your heart, as you watch this shy wanna-be rocker take his first tentative steps towards both achieving his dreams of music stardom as well as winning the love of Sherrie; she who has her own starry-eyed dreams as well, taking them to some unexpected places along the way. Don’t miss the fun! I have seen this show 101x since it first started running Off-Broadway, and I just can't get enough.“This must be just like livin’ in Paradise…” and you won’t want to go home!
