Megan Hilty and Justin Long to announce Drama League Award nominees

The Drama League has announced that Megan Hilty and Justin Long will co-host the announcement of the 2012 Drama League Nominees Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and the much coveted Distinguished Performance Award on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. The nominations ceremony will be broadcast worldwide via live stream at www.broadwayworld.com.

Hilty, current star of NBC’s new musical drama, “Smash”, is a former Drama League nominee herself. She was recently sighned to Sony Music in a partnership between Sony Masterworks and Columbia Records with her new album scheduled to be released later this year. Next up, Hilty will star as Lorelei Lee in Encores! Production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Megan Hilty made her Broadway debut as Glinda in Wicked, a role she also performed with the national tour and in Los Angeles. Hilty also played Doralee in the Broadway production of 9 to 5: The Musical. She was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical, the Drama League Award for Distinguished performance, and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical.

Currently, Hilty is in production on the animated film “Dorothy of Oz” with Kelsey Grammer, Hugh Dancy and Lea Michele as well as starring in NBC’s new musical series “Smash.”

Justin Long recently made his Broadway debut in Seminar. Long is a film and television star who has been seen in He’s Just Not That Into You, The Break Up, Live Free or Die Hard, Dodgeball and “Ed.” He took on the role of ‘Martin,’ previosly played by Hamish Linklater.

The Drama League nominations announcement begins the month of celebrations leading up to the 78th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held at the Mariott Marquis Times Square on Friday, May 18, 2012 at noon.
